jim barnard

jim is the founder and head coach of tiller. he spent ten years working in various roles within the church, but has always been drawn toward indiviual pastoral care. this gifting, along with a platform of pain, led him to launching tiller coaching in 2020. you can read his expectation gap story in The suffering guy.

he has a master’s degree in leadership from denver seminary and a bachelor’s degree in business/marketing from marquette university in milwaukee.

carlos sanchez

carlos is a program director and adjunct professor at manna university in fayetteville, NC. he has spent over 19 years in the army special operations community with numerous deployments overseas. he serves in various ministry roles since 2019, including coaching/moral injury. 

he has a doctorate in ministry degree in christian leadership & strategic growth from manna university and three masters’ degrees on top of his bachelor’s. this dude loves school!

tim rogers

tim is the newest coach at tiller. after a 20-year career leading healthcare organizations—including nursing homes, assisted living, and a medicare advantage plan—he retired in 2025 and is now free to pursue what God has for him. tim has joined tiller as a part-time coach and full-time good guy.

he has a master’s degree in counseling from denver seminary and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from southeastern louisiana university in hammond.
